The Sharadan Lords of Darkness and The Kingdom of Avalon

Sharadan Lords

The Kingdom of Avalon

The Sharadan Lords of Darkness from Minifigs' "Aureola Rococo" Range. I have slowly be building up a force of these guys. They are perfect as proxy Temple Guards or similar for my Tekumel armies.

And destined for some Dragon Rampant games are these Kingdom of Avalon from the old "Hundred Kingdoms" range by Black Orc Games.

A Little on the Trashy Side...

Two bulk wins on eBay - 5 GBP for the lot. Plus postage, of course...

A bit more of a trashy read than my last post!

Just Arrived: Outlaws of the Marsh

Purchased from a fellow gamer on The Miniatures Page. English translations of an ancient Chinese story. I haven't got into it yet but the hardcover books are gorgeous! Did I mention how much I love books?! :-)

The Drune Warriors of Caer Maed

Confrontation figures by Rackham. These are four lots I just won on ebay. They are based and primed and were a good least before shipping (yet to be determined). The only thing that is mildly troubling is that the pictures don't match the auction descriptions exactly. I didn't notice until afterwards that while the description said "10 figures" for each lot, three of the pictures show 11 figures...

I'm planning on using these for Conan style Swords & Sorcery gaming and I think they will go well with my Helsvakt from Red Box Games.

Good Luck Minis: 192 Pink Flamingos

Here is my most recent purchase, and it's not even metal! I recently downloaded the 2013 Safari catalogue. They're the guys that make those plastic animals you see in places like Michaels. I discovered that they have a range of "Good Luck Minis" which are little rubber charms.

Item #344822 is a bag of 192 pink plastic flamingos! The catalogue stated an approximate size for the Minis of 3/4" IIRC which I figured would be about right for 28mm scale. I mean if  you are doing a safari you need flamingos, right? And if you have flamingos you need lots - have you ever seen just one or two flamingos? It was taking a bit of a chance but I ordered them sight unseen. After a bit of a wait (3 months) they showed up and I think they are spot on. They are soft rubber and are 25mm tall. And there are a lot of them! :-)

They were a bit pricey @ about $70CDN IIRC but the price per unit is quite good considering.
